1. Return & Exchange Policy Overview

At Slight.ae, we are committed to your complete satisfaction with our products and services. This return policy complies with UAE Consumer Protection Law (Federal Law No. 24 of 2006) and has been designed to provide clear guidelines for returns, refunds, and exchanges for purchases made from Slight.ae in Dubai and throughout the UAE.

2. Standard Return Period

For lighting products purchased from Slight.ae:

  • Standard lighting fixtures and products may be returned within 30 days of delivery
  • Custom or specially ordered lighting solutions have a 14-day return period
  • Sale or clearance items may be returned within 14 days unless marked as "Final Sale"

All returns require proof of purchase (invoice or receipt) and must be in their original packaging with all accessories, manuals, and warranty cards included.

3. Product Condition Requirements

To be eligible for a return or exchange, products must be:

  • In new, unused condition
  • Complete with all original packaging, protective materials, and accessories
  • Free from damage caused after delivery
  • Accompanied by all documentation, warranty information, and manuals

Products that have been installed, modified, or show signs of use beyond reasonable inspection may not be eligible for return or may be subject to a restocking fee.

4. Non-Returnable Items

The following items cannot be returned or exchanged:

  • Custom-designed lighting fixtures specifically manufactured to your specifications
  • Special order items clearly identified as non-returnable at the time of purchase
  • Items marked as "Final Sale" or "Clearance - No Returns"
  • Products where the sealed packaging has been opened for items that cannot be resold due to health or hygiene reasons
  • Digital products or software that has been downloaded or activated
  • Gift cards or vouchers

5. Return Process

To initiate a return or exchange in Dubai and the UAE:

  1. Contact Us: Notify our customer service team within the applicable return period by email at returns@slight.ae or by phone at +971 56 688 3447
  2. Return Authorization: You will receive a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number and return instructions
  3. Packaging: Securely package the item(s) in their original packaging with all components
  4. Return Shipping: Return the item using our recommended shipping method or arrange for pickup
  5. Inspection: Upon receipt, we will inspect the returned items to ensure they meet our return requirements
  6. Refund or Exchange: Once approved, we will process your refund or exchange

6. Refund Methods & Timing

Refunds will be processed as follows:

  • Credit/Debit Card Purchases: Refunded to the original payment card within 7-14 business days
  • Bank Transfer Payments: Refunded to your designated bank account within 7-14 business days
  • Cash Payments: Refunded by bank transfer or store credit (your preference)
  • Cheque Payments: Refunded by bank transfer or replacement cheque within 14-21 business days

Please note that your bank or credit card company may require additional time to process the refund to your account after we have issued it.

7. Return Shipping Costs

Return shipping costs are handled as follows:

  • For defective items or incorrect shipments: Slight.ae will cover all return shipping costs
  • For change of mind or customer preference: The customer is responsible for return shipping costs
  • For items over AED 5,000: We offer free return shipping or pickup within Dubai

For bulky items or lighting fixtures that require special handling, our customer service team will arrange for pickup at a convenient time.

8. Exchanges

If you wish to exchange an item for a different model, size, or color:

  • Follow the same return process outlined above
  • Specify your exchange preference when initiating the return
  • If the exchange item has a different price, the difference will be charged or refunded accordingly
  • Exchange items will be shipped once we receive and process your return

Please note that availability of exchange items cannot be guaranteed, especially for limited stock or seasonal items.

9. Damaged or Defective Items

For items received damaged or defective:

  • Notify us within 48 hours of delivery with photos of the damage
  • Do not attempt to install or use damaged products
  • We will arrange for inspection, replacement, or repair at our discretion
  • Defective items covered by manufacturer warranty will be handled according to the warranty terms

10. Installation Services

For installation services provided by Slight.ae:

  • If you are dissatisfied with the installation quality, please contact us within 7 days
  • Our technical team will assess the installation and address any issues at no additional cost
  • Installation services cannot be refunded after completion unless proven to be substantially deficient

11. Restocking Fees

Certain returns may be subject to restocking fees:

  • Standard products returned in original condition: No restocking fee
  • Products with opened packaging but unused: 10% restocking fee
  • Special order items (not custom-made): 15-25% restocking fee
  • Large commercial orders: Restocking fees will be specified in your sales agreement

Restocking fees will be clearly communicated prior to processing your return.

12. Consumer Rights Under UAE Law

This return policy does not affect your statutory rights under UAE Consumer Protection Law. If a product is found to be defective, not fit for purpose, or does not match the description, you are entitled to a repair, replacement, or refund regardless of our standard return policy timeframes.

In accordance with UAE law, consumers have the right to:

  • Return defective goods within the warranty period
  • Receive clear information about products before purchase
  • File complaints with relevant consumer protection authorities if issues cannot be resolved

13. Policy Modifications

We reserve the right to modify this return policy at any time. Any changes will be posted on our website and will not apply retroactively to purchases made before the modification date.
